September 2011

September 1, 2011

It's that time of year again, what to be for Halloween next month and to see how many times the girls change their minds until the big day!

September 2, 2011

This picture is one of those 3D images that if you stare at long enough you can see the secret image hidden inside.  This is a picture of some pebbles by the lake, some are good for skipping, some look like fossils and some look a cute little doggie (the hint is to look at the red leash and follow it down!)

September 3, 2011

One lesson learned from owning dogs previously is that a dog run is a must to avoid backyard surprises!  With the long, cold winters - we wanted the easiest access to the side of the yard as possible.  That meant a ramp for her little legs and an access from the back door.

September 4, 2011

One of the best parts of a long weekend with Monday off is the lazy Sunday afternoons.  Why not skip some rocks in the lake? Sounds good. (and no, that's not our house in the background)

September 5, 2011

This year for Labour Day we wanted to enjoy the perfect weather and do something different.  The girls had been hiking on some nearby trails for a prior field trip so we decided to check them out ourselves.  They were fun and easy hiking except one part that was really muddy so we tried (as seen above) to cross an open meadow before joining the trail again.

September 6, 2011

Nothing is better than jumping on the trampoline in the backyard, except when Daddy decides to jump on and then the fun increases ten-fold!

September 7, 2011

TJ made a small change to her voice lessons this season.  Instead of individual in-home lessons, she joined a Glee-type musical group with 25 other giddy girls, she's very excited!

September 8, 2011

Ever wish you could bring a new puppy into your childhood class for show-and-tell?  Just as TJ how it went and how many the other students wanted a hands-on demonstration

September 9, 2011

So Lyndon decided to start having chest pains at work in a meeting and after a brutal ride home on his bike (seriously, he rode his bike home in 30C weather!) headed to the Emergency room for a check.  They did an EKG (as seen above and no, that's not him in the picture!) took blood and xrays but sent him home with no reason for the pains, they said he was as healthy as a horse.  He was fine the next day with no more pains to speak of.  Whatever.

September 10, 2011

Jayda enjoys singing "awesome" songs into the fan. I guess it's the acoustics? Or maybe the fabulous blowing hair? Not sure, but all I can say is...rock on!

 September 11, 2011

Well it's been 10 years since the world was changed after 9/11.  We remembered all the passengers stuck in Calgary when their planes were grounded and all the sandwiches we made as an LDS Church service project.

September 12, 2011

Costco never disappoints if you go for big carts, big deals and big ice cream waffles!

September 13, 2011

Back to school also means back to piano lessons.  BB gets to start this year and she is very excited!

September 14, 2011

School Open House/Meet the teachers night

September 15, 2011

What's better than donuts?  Homemade donuts for free, of course.  Mommy decided to get creative and give Krispy Kreme a run for their money.

September 16, 2011

Let the creative juices flow!  Scrapbooking, wood crafts for Christmas, vintage book pumpkins and lots of yummy snacks.

September 17, 2011

One of the advantages of living in Saskatchewan is that a relative we didn't even know of moved out here to preside over the Regina Temple.  She knows all of Lyndon's relatives and was around when the stories told about them actually happened! It's been a great adventure of family history (and good eating)!

September 18, 2011

The neighbour has a big apple tree that hangs partially over our fence and this year we decided to ask if we could have some apples before they hit the ground.  We had a nice chat with the family and said take all the apples we wanted.  We did.  The only regret was we couldn't reach some of the high ones even from their neighbours garage roof.

September 19, 2011

TJ is taking after daddy by becoming a School Patrol captain and making this world just a little safer for all the little people.

September 20, 2011

This fall has been one for the record books.  Hot until the end of September is a rare thing around here but it's been great so far.  We can hardly remember the last time an autumn has been so warm and wonderful!

September 21, 2011

With only one professional sports team for the entire province, people get pretty passionate around here.  We made the mistake of trying to drive past the stadium an hour before a home game and got to watch all the crazy outfits and hoards of people heading to the game.

September 22, 2011

We love our little puppy and get a kick out of her idiosyncrasies like sleeping on her back.

September 23, 2011

Another scorching hot afternoon at the end of September, yep, we'll take it!

September 24, 2011

JJ is no longer the baby in the family but she's certainly glad to have given up the title to such a cute companion!

September 25, 2011

Even though the air is still warm, the leaves are changing and the kids got to play in the leaf pile and climb the tree in the front yard.

September 26, 2011

Canadians each year get abandoned to the cold winter months by the geese overhead flying to warmer areas.  We are stronger for it but still get our feelings hurt just a little.

September 27, 2011

JJ is in kindergarten now but that means half the days with the doggy all to herself

September 28, 2011

We're known for our high fashion and exciting living, as you can see, we don't eat at Subway restaurants, we eat at Subway Cafe locations.  Very fancy.  Actually it's exactly the same with couches, big screen tv's and fireplaces.

September 29, 2011

We love antique shopping, well window shopping. We love to see all the cool stuff our past generations used and lived by.  We found a 3 story antique mall and after an hour and a half still hadn't gone through the whole thing!

 September 30, 2011

JJ is now old enough to get invited to birthday parties more often now (actually 2 today alone!).  The 2nd one was a Star Wars theme and so she had to watch the movies to even know what mom and dad were talking about and who Princess Leia was.
